Kathleen B. Albrektson

Kathleen is the founding partner of Albrektson and Shumate Law Office and has been in private practice since 1994. Prior to that she served as a corporate attorney for CRU, formerly known as Campus Crusade for Christ. Her practice emphasizes estate planning and administration. Albrektson & Shumate recently received the Sun-Redlands Daily Facts 2017 Readers' Choice Award as San Bernardino County's Best Attorneys. Kathleen also received this honor in five prior years.
Kathleen wrote “The Boomer’s Guide to Elder Law” chapter for the book, The Complete Resource Guide for Baby Boomers: Everything You Need to Know About Caring for Your Parent.
She is a frequent speaker to service clubs, churches and other groups.
Kathy is a graduate of Duke University and an avid Blue Devil basketball (and sometimes football) fan. Her hobbies include gardening, reading, and scuba diving. Kathy & Ray have a daughter, son, and five grandsons.
Kathleen enjoys assisting clients in implementing estate plans that reflect their hearts.

Christopher A. Shumate is a partner at Albrektson & Shumate LLP. Since 2008, Chris has been providing services in the areas of Estate Planning, Small Business Planning, Probate, Estate Litigation, and Bankruptcy.

Prior to 2008, Chris served as a Deputy District Attorney for Riverside County. He took 21 cases to jury trial resulting in verdicts and handled preliminary hearings and motions involving hundreds of criminal cases.
Chris and his wife were on the full-time staff of Campus Crusade for Christ from 1999 - 2002, serving as Campus Ministers at Chico State and in Mexico City, and then with the greater Southwest Region.
Chris is a member of Sandals Church. He, his wife, and three boys enjoy a number of other outside activities. Chris coaches various teams for AYSO soccer in Redlands. Chris is a member of the Masters Swim Team for the Redlands YMCA and participates in various local triathlons.
